ETERNALLY PRODUCING HISTORY NEVER IGNORING KNOWLEDGE

EPHNIKO (ef-ni-ko) is a Colombian songwriter, recording artist, and emcee from Miami. His music is unpredictably eclectic but well rooted in the gritty sound and lyrical centricity of 90s hiphop.
Lyrically, EPHNIKO engages audiences with skillful interpretations of immigrant narratives and poetic portraits of the times. Being a native to Barranquilla, ‘la Bella,’ he conserves some of the cultural idiosyncrasy and musical ‘tumbao del caribe Colombiano,’ but he has developed a unique voice with a global appeal as a result of his multiple travels and life experiences.
EPHNIKO has baptized his sound with the name ‘Latin Boom Bap,’ which he describes as ‘the musical translation of his Latino world view through the eyes of the microphone.
His sound has been compared to Orishas, Beatnuts, Blackstar, Vico C, and Nas. One way to explain it would be Gangstarr meets Joe Arroyo in Jimi Hendrix’s spaceship. Another way would be KRS-One and Radio Bemba Sound System featuring Ali Faraka Touré. You get the point.
It is my goal, and dream, to relay these rhythms and melodies through recording, sampling and editing, so as to give it my own flavor and spit it back out at the world accompanied by thick, heavy beats, layered melodies from my dreamscape backed up by thick, rumbling bass lines that leave your head spinning...

Some producers are more hype than substance. Satori-C, born Colin Chapman, is not one of the aforementioned men. Chapman has been diligently plugging away in the Colorado music scene for a decade and a half now, amassing a respectable collection of career milestones along the way. Friends in Stereo a collaboration with fellow Denver producer PJ Stroller, was named "Best Club DJ" in Westword Magazine, headlining the second stage of Triad Dragons' Global Dance Fest at Red Rocks, a bowling alley in St. Louis and even appearing at Miami's Ultra. Solo gigs have taken him to NYC, San Francisco, Mexico City and Burning Man.
Now a multi label artist, Colin continues to engineer, remix and creat sound design work for the likes of XFer Records, Velcro City Records, Cold Buted, We Are Live, and BlackBridge.
